Advanced Writers Lab

​The Advanced Writers Lab of the New Opera & Musical Theater Initiative accepts applications on a rolling basis year-round. Applicants are typically notified within a month.

The Advanced Writers Lab is a peer-feedback group open to a limited number of experienced book-writers, composers and lyricists who meet monthly to present new work in various stages of development, and/or to refine their craft and meet new collaborators.
 
The Advanced Writers Lab meets 11 times per year, usually from 10am to 4pm on the third Saturday of every month September through July. The Lab provides up to four singing actors per session to read members’ work, with some rehearsal time provided. Writers give and receive supportive, constructive feedback immediately following the presentations.
 
Collaborations are highly encouraged, as are new project proposals.
