The New Opera and Musical Theater Initiative (NOMTI) is a group of musical theater writers who meet to workshop high-quality new works for musical theater. 

The Advanced Writers Lab accepts applications on a rolling basis. To apply for the 2026-2027 cycle, writers should apply by July 1, 2026. 
NOMTI is seeking lyricists, librettists, and composers whose work displays a high level of craft, creativity, and originality to bring their works-in-progress to the Advanced Writers Lab sponsored by New Opera and Musical Theater Initiative (NOMTI).
The Advanced Writers Lab is a peer-feedback group open to a limited number of experienced writers. Collaborations among artists working in their strongest discipline--book, music, or lyrics--are encouraged. However, applicants may apply solo or as a team.
